​St George Park Community Garden

Originally established as a growing project by Avon Organic Group, the Community Garden is now run independently by a small group of local volunteers and is supported by the Friends of St George's Park and St George Neighbourhood Partnership.  The Community Garden can be found on the old bandstand near the lake and kiosk. Volunteers are always welcome to the regular, year round work sessions growing vegetables, fruit and flowers for the general public to sample.

Organic blooms

Organic Blooms is an Organic Cut Flower farm and Social Enterprise based in Latteridge near Bristol with Soil Association certification. Growing cut flowers is therapeutic and at Organic Blooms they use all the wonders of working with nature to benefit local people with disabilities and support needs. Members of our group enjoyed a fascinating and inspiring visit in the summer 2018 with a group of people from the Gloucester Organic ​Gardening Group (GOGG) and the Women's Farming and Gardening Association (WFGA) and wish Jo and her team every success in their amazing work with people.

Yatton Area Bee Project ​

YABeeP continues to meet locally in North Somerset and although the website is for the time being not being updated it remains live as a continuing valuable resource for visitors to the site. The aim of the project is to provide support to individuals and families who want to encourage both wild and honey bees and maybe keep bees themselves whilst advocating the use of bee-friendly, natural beekeeping methods. Where our members keep honeybees they do so primarily for the benefit of the bees themselves, not in order to exploit them for forced honey production or personal profit.
